Spend a day at Gobbins Studio to relax and unwind. After a morning dander across the farmland and a visit to the little woods, you get to further relax by painting and sketching a floral piece which has been selected from the different plants growing in the hedgerows around the farm. Painting activity takes place in the studio which had a previous life as an old byre. It maintains its old charm and is a cosy well lit relaxing space for painting activities. Enjoy a healthy light lunch (eaten outside if weather permits) and take in the views from the cliff top farm, listen to the bird song whilst tapping into your creative side. This is a relaxed and informal day suitable for complete beginners who are interested in trying their hand at a loose style of Watercolour. If weather conditions are bad on the day, instead of a farmland walk we will have local folklore stories around a cosy wood burner. Maximum of 8 people for this one, so individual attention is guaranteed. The day includes tea/coffee and a selection of Irish breads cheese and chutneys for lunch. All materials provided including a mount for your completed piece of art work.
Islandmagee Art Trail
The Islandmagee Art Trail is a fantastic experience which is an art and craft trail around the peninsula of Islandmagee. Maps are available from the local shops to guide you round the various craft makers and artisan workers who show their wares and techniques during the bank holiday weekend in August. Enjoy the wonderful views and countryside in Islandmagee, stop at the Rinkha for an Ice Cream or take in the Gobbins Cliff Top Tour. Gobbins Studio will be open for the weekend so be sure to call in and peruse the original art, prints and cards on view.
One of the best family-friendly small festivals in Northern Ireland, which I have the pleasure of attending with a selection of my watercolour art this year and which will be featured in their gallery. The Stendhal Festival event is at Ballmully Cottage Farm, Limavady on the 15th to 17th August 2019. It has an amazing lineup of music this year, including “The Hothouse Flowers”.
Call and say hello if you are visiting the festival and peruse the watercolours available.
This two day festival is held at Glenarm Castle, deep in the Glens of Antrim and is the largest festival in Northern Ireland.
I will have my paintings, cards and prints available, so be sure to call and say hello.

“I smell spring”
Meet Audrey, the founder of Audrey Kyle Art at Gobbins Studio.
Her love of colour, the great outdoors and nature has merged to create original watercolour paintings with a very unique style. Living on a cliff top on the beautiful peninsula of Islandmagee in Northern Ireland on the family farm she has no shortage of inspiration for her paintings.
Having developed her own style, Audrey paints a variety of form including landscapes, florals, animals and seascapes, all in a loose style using a bright colour scheme.
Memories are often triggered by her images and she is regularly asked to paint commissions surrounding peoples childhood dreams or places in Ireland with an individual twist including peoples homes and childhood homes.
Situated at the start of the stunning causeway coastal route Audrey has converted an old barn into her working studio/gallery keeping the old Irish outhouse charm of the original building. Her studio is open by appointment and she also runs taster sessions to let people see how she paints one of her paintings. She is located only 1 mile from the entrance to the famous Gobbins cliff path walk.
